Bio

Dr. Sastry Pamidi is the principal investigator and lead scientist of the Superconductivity and Cryogenics Laboratory at the Center for Advanced Power Systems, Florida State University. His primary research areas are high power density electrical devices cooled by gaseous helium, design of advanced electrical characterization tools for superconductivity and cryogenics, novel synthesis routes for applied superconducting materials, and AC characterization of superconducting materials.

Prior to joining FSU-CAPS in 2001, Dr. Pamidi worked in many research laboratories in Asia, Europe, and US. Dr. Pamidi's past affiliations include Bhabha Atomic Research Center (Bombay, India), University of Aberdeen (Aberdeen, Scotland), Applied Superconductivity Center, University Of Wisconsin-Madison, and National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Pamidi has published more than 110 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has collaborated with many research groups across the world. At FSU-CAPS, he has established a unique and versatile variable temperature total AC loss measurement facility and a helium gas based cryogenic characterization facility for superconducting power devices.
