Dr. Baldwin obtained an MS in EE in 1989 from Clemson University and a Ph.D. in EE from VA Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1993. An assistant professor of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering. Joining the department in 1999, he teaches upper level and graduate courses in power systems and machine. As a founding member of the Center for Advanced Power System, Dr. Baldwin conducts research and supervises graduate students in the areas of power quality, distribution systems, system grounding, network protection, and distributed generation. He is active in the IEEE, serving in the local section and serves on several committees within the Industrial Applications Society and the Power Engineering Society. He has authored several journal papers and numerous conference papers and panel sessions in the area of grounding systems, network protection, power quality, system stability and modeling, and SMES systems. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina and is currently involved in the Florida Engineering Society and the NSPE.
