Bio

Dr. Yuan Li joined the Center for Advanced Power Systems, Florida State University as an Assistant Professor since 2019. She received her B.S., M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Wuhan University, China, in 2003, 2006 and 2009, respectively. She was with Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Sichuan Univerisy from 2009 to 2018, where she was a lecturer from 2009 to 2013 and an Associate Professor from 2014. Dr. Li has been the PI or co-PI of several research projects sponsed by national fundings and industry. Her research interests include impedance source converter, DC-DC converter, DC-AC inverter, photovoltaic power generation forecasting, power electronics interfacing power systems, etc.

Professional Experience:

Associate Professor, 2013 – 2018, Sichuan University, China, Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Worked on PV power converter modeling, analysis for power quality issues as in distribution network.

Visiting Professor, 2015 – 2016, Northeastern University, MA, USA, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Worked on high power density PV power converters with coordinative control, and machine learning based regional PV power generation forecasting.

Lecturer, 2009 – 2013, Sichuan University, China, Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Worked on impedance source inverter especially for PV application. Founded and directed the Renewable Energy Lab.

Visting Scholar, 2007 – 2009, Michigan State University, MI, USA, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Was a PhD candidate and worked on PV simulator, impedance source inverter and three-phase voltage regulator.

 

Activities:

Dr. Li is a member of the IEEE  Power Electronics Society. She serves as an Associate Editor for Transactions on Power Electronics since 2016. Currently she serves as an Associate Technical Chair for Energy Conversion Congress & Exhibition 2019.

 

Research Interests:

Dr. Li's research interests include impedance source converter, DC-DC converter, DC-AC inverter, photovoltaic power generation forecast, power electronics interfacing power systems.
